Jason’s experience in the industry started back in the years of Windows 3.11. He was part of the team that built the network and deployed workstations for thousands of end users being moved as part of the one of the first waves of BRAC (Base Realignment and Closure). From here he transition to a position supporting Bell Atlantic where he started as an install technician for CO Switching gear, Optical Muxes, Light Spans and Pair Gains. Utilizing this experience he gained between the networking and central office side he served on the NMCI Task Force responsible for the first deployments of the Navy Marine Corp Intranet. At the time the NMCI project was one of the largest enterprise deployments to date encompassing all of the Navy and Marine Corp workstations, servers and networking hardware. From there he served in the leadership role of a couple infrastructure companies that specialized in Information Transport Systems for inside and outside plant communications. He oversaw and managed several hundred miles of outside plant fiber infrastructure builds for the State of Maryland as part of the One Maryland Broadband Network (OMBN) and part of the Department of Homeland Security CCTV project for MDOT & MTA which included building fiber infrastructure to public transportation and rail stations to deploy video surveillance systems. Upon the completion of these projects he brought his years of networking, infrastructure, construction and technology together to form Layer One. Today he oversees all aspects of the company and continues to focus on growth in its current market verticals and expand into new opportunities.
